About Us

Our Philosophy

We believe in hospitality that feels human. In sustainability that is lived, not advertised. In comfort that is thoughtful, not excessive. In experiences that connect you to place, people, and yourself.

Tano Bora is our home. We built it with love, intention, and respect for the land. We invite you to feel that in every moment of your stay.

about Tano Bora Hotel

Our Story

Tano Bora Hotel is a sanctuary shaped by land, culture, and a partnership rooted in purpose. The name Tano Bora — “The Magnificent Five” — honours the legendary coalition of five cheetahs who roam these plains. For Patrick Letura, local Maasai Chief and co founder, these cheetahs are not symbols but companions. He grew up with them as a warrior and now guide, learning their rhythms, their moods, and their stories as intimately as those of his own brothers. Their presence inspired the name of the hotel and the spirit that guides it.

Jacquie – Naserian - McGlade, former UNEP Chief Scientist, brings a lifetime of expertise in natural systems, health, and wellness. Her work in environmental science and regenerative design shapes the hotel’s approach to comfort, nourishment, and sustainability — from rainwater showers to biological water systems to plant forward dining.

Over the past decade they have brought into being Ewangan, a modern Maasai manyatta built to honour tradition while embracing innovation. And now they have created Tano Bora.

Our Purpose
